EQTEC has two gasification plants for ongoing research and development of EQTEC Gasifier Technology. Gasification tests using different types of waste are carried out at these centres enabling the improvement of technological development.

EQTEC, xGATE PROJECT gasifier technology  

Participation in this R&D gasification project as a technology partner and supplier of gasification technology in the xGATE Consortium, which is developing an innovative concept of integrated power plant generating electricity and thermal energy from waste. The project was awarded the "Project of the Year 2013" in the Business Orientation category at the 1st European Conference on Technology to Business in Energy from Chemical Fuels   held in Frankfurt on 23 and 24 September 2013, organized by EIT,  KIC InnoEnergy.

The project was awarded the "Project of the Year 2013" in the Business Orientation at the 1st European Conference on Technology to Business in Energy from Chemical Fuels and will be managed through the KIC Innoenergy platform, located in Eindhoven (Netherlands), which consists of 29 members, including multinational energy companies, research centers and European universities such as EDF, Gas Natural Fenosa, TOTAL, ABB, AREVA and the Esade Business School. KIC Innoenergy's strategy involves the promotion of innovative projects in the field of energy.

Simulation of operating conditions in a gasifier for a 2 MWe plant

EQTEC KINETIC MODEL platform (EKM) is a powerful simulation tool based on a computer- assisted kinetic model capable of predicting the thermochemical processes of solid degradation that take place in gasification plants withEGTtechnology. This computer simulation using numerical models allows us to determine the optimal gasification conditions for each waste type depending on its chemical composition.

EKM combines simulation by both balance models (Stoichiometric methods and Thermodynamic balance) and by dynamic models including "finite" reaction kinetics for the stages of pyrolysis, gasification, for combustion of the gaseous species and the char, combining these processes consecutively as they occur in an actual installation.

Eqtec Monitoring Platform (EMP)

EQTEC MONITORING PLATFORM (EMP) is a system for monitoring and control of power plants using EQTEC GASIFIER TECHNOLOGY (EGT), which ensures the secure, reliable and efficient operation of the facility.
