EQTEC Iberia has performed work on the design, construction and start-up of the 10 MWe cogeneration plant installed in the agroindustrial sector company, Movialsa, located at Campo de Criptana (Spain).
The plant is installed on a newly-constructed 1600 m2 industrial warehouse and started commercial operations in April 2010.
The 10 MWE cogeneration plant is composed of two natural gas generator sets with 5 MWe electrical capacity. Electricity production is exported to the grid of the power company and revenue is determined by current regulations governing power production plants under the special scheme for the sale of electricity.
The cogeneration plant produces hot air from the heat recovery of exhaust gas heat from the generator sets to natural gas which is intended for drying the orujo, using a rotating trommel. This drying system will ensure the removal of moisture from the orujo from 70% to 10%.
The cogeneration plant is composed of the following:
- Power generation plant: Two ROLLS ROYCE B35:40V12AG generator sets with a total installed capacity of 10,000 kWe.
- Heat recovery system: recovery of heat from exhaust gases from the engines as a source of heat for drying the orujo, using a rotating trommel.
- Interconnection electrical installations: Medium and low-voltage electrical installations. 12,500 KVA -20KV/6.3 KV transformer station.
- Monitoring system: with EQTEC MONITORING PLATFORM (EMP).
